Latest NewsOur first English Speaking Week was held with a focus on SDG 5: Gender Equality and SDG 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production.
During the morning assembly, Mr Randy, our NET teacher, gave an inspiring sharing about the theme. He encouraged students to express ideas about sustainable development.
At lunchtime, students enjoyed four meaningful game counters. For SDG 12, “Needs vs. Wants Ring Toss” encouraged students to reflect on mindful buying habits and the difference between essential needs and consumer wants, while “Eco-Twister: Spin & Speak!” promoted sustainable vocabulary through fun pronunciation challenges. For SDG 5, “Bounce the Bias” helped students think about gender stereotypes and equal choices for everyone, while “Quotes of Equality” inspired students with powerful messages about equal rights, freedom, and potential.
Through these interactive activities, students practised English speaking, pronunciation, sentence-making, and vocabulary while learning to respect others, challenge stereotypes, make mindful choices, and protect the environment. The week was meaningful and enjoyable for all.
