S3 Chinese Food Culture Workshop — Traditional Dim Sum: Siu Mai

S3 Business Fundamentals, a newly designed school-based curriculum this year, has something new in store! Students participated in a Chinese Food Culture Workshop taught by a professional chef, where they learned to make the classic Cantonese dim sum, siu mai! 

 

The chef provided detailed explanations on the process of making siu mai and shared insights into the essence of dim sum culture. 

 

Under the chef’s guidance, students had the chance to stuff and shape siu mai themselves. It was a fun and enjoyable process, and everyone was very engaged! 

 

Freshly steamed siu mai made by the students themselves — tasting their own creations brought satisfaction and a deeper appreciation for traditional cuisine. 

 

Through this experience, students not only learnt a new skill but also explored the cultural significance behind siu mai. Looking forward to the next class activity!
